Rachel Olson, receiveld her master's degree in vocal performance from Indiana University in May 2004. Ms. Olson's opera credits include the roles of Marcellina in Le Nozze di Figaro at the Brevard Music Center, Auntie in Peter Grimes at Indiana University, Flora Bervoix in La Traviata with Tacoma Opera, Rosina in The Barber of Seville with Northwest Opera in Schools Touring Company, Man Friday in Offenbach's Robinson Crusoe and Czipra in Johann Strauss' Gypsy Baron under the direction of Maestro Hans Wolf and his Outreach Productions, and Cousin Hebe in HMS Pinafore with Seattle Civic Light Opera.

Her concert work includes performing as a solist with the Seattle Philharmonic in Theron Kirk's The Prayers from the Ark, which she reprised with the Port Angeles Symphony along with performing the Messiah in December 2002. Ms. Olson was a Young Artist last summer at the Ezio Pinza Council for American Singers of Opera (EPCASO) in Oderzo, Italy, where she worked with Claudia Pinza, Enza Ferrari, Gianni Cappelletto, Maria Chiara, and Maurizio Arena.

Her training includes studying under renowned mezzo-soprano Suzanne Mentzer at the Aspen Opera Theater and obtaining a Bachelor in Vocal Performance with Opera Emphasis from The Boston Conservatory. Ms. Olson is currently studying with Patricia Havranek.
